PARK ANYWHERE WITHOUT COINS

How often have you parked your car, reached into your pocket or purse and found no change? you know the difficulty in asking for change and you are also aware that when you leave your car to find change, that's when you get that $20 parking ticket. Even paying it by check induces more stress.

So who's got a better idea? Park-O-Card, that's who. This "Social Invention" can clear city streets of those vertical highwaymen reduce stress levels, save dry cleaning costs by keeping you out of the rain, downsize the bureaucracy and provide municipalities with the same amount of revenue - but with minimum expense..

Hence, more money can go into general revenue to keep property taxes down. Park-O-Card is a credit card size device containing a micro chip, a small, long-lasting lithum battery and a light crystal display (With a service life of 14 000 hours). Customers buy up to $100/200 or $300 (Maximum) Worth of parking time from their city, parking companies or parking lot operators. Cost of the card is absorbed into this initial purchase. You also now have a receipt for income tax purposes. Try and get that out of a meter!

Here is how it works: The card holder drives into a "Zoned" lot which shows time and rates.. you set your card to match that lot's specific charges. It starts its own built-in meter and you attach the card to your sun visor which you turn towards the driver's side window. The decimal point starts blinking to show that the card is working and also that you really do have a credit balance left on the card.

When the driver returns to his car, he removes and stops the card's count-down, checks for monies left to spend on future parking and drives away. No hassle. No "Extra" money wasted inside a "Prepaid" parking meter when you return early. And, best of all, no parking ticket on the windshield.

This system eliminates those heavy, expensive and psychologicallyintimidating metal parking meters. Saved is replacement or repair costs when they get hit by parking cars, high maintenance cost due to slugs, annoyed moterists or the elements, plus the cost of frequent coin collections and the possible enbezzelment of some or all coins. Park-O-Card allows more parking because with painted street locations no longer necessary small cars that take up less space provide more room for other cars. It can also be used for special-event parking. This could rejuvenate city-core shopping.

The same card would work everywhere, rates day or night and for differing locations could be adjusted by the city or lot owners with just an on-location rate card sign change, as economic conditions warrent. But you wouldn't worry about that as your card covers it all.

This is an idea whose time has come. Phone city hall and demand it now! More Information: Janet D. Hansen, Business Development, Park-O-Card Canada Ltd., 9551-56 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 0B2.
